London Conservative Future last night cemented its reputation as the country’s premier regional branch with a spectacular summer drinks session with London Mayor Boris Johnson. Set against the backdrop of the stylish St Stephens club, with a guest list over 250 people and a string of high-flying MPs and MEPs and it was always going to be a fun evening. Added to that was a seemingly limitless flow of red and white wine, alongside a selection of tasty treats and canapés, even the sun was shining late into the evening.Ever since its launch back in 2009 when Clare Hilley and her team set the foundations for the branch, London CF has always been a force to be reckoned with. Fast forward to 2011 and under the leadership of Nicolas Clark and his team and the organisation has ballooned in terms of membership and manpower, raising an eye-watering £10,000 for the Boris campaign last night alone.
With an army of activists hungry to help out on the doorsteps and by digging deep into their pockets, it was no wonder Boris Johnson was smiling. It’s always great to see Conservative Future succeed and it has to be said the current committee are delivering spectacular results. Aspiring activists and future leaders take note; London Conservative Future is a perfect example of what can be achieved when we all work together.
